DFCD Bankable Regional Advisor
(Duty Station: Santa Cruz - Bolivia)
General Description of the Position
The
DFCD Bankable Regional Advisor will support WWF in engaging groups
developing green business propositions and supporting these groups to
access DFCD. The focus will be on developers with concrete projects on
climate-smart agriculture, sustainable water management, food security
and ecosystem restoration solutions. These groups should be working
towards building climate-resilient and inclusive interventions within
the landscapes where they are proposed.
WWF facilitates
public-private collaboration that will scale up such climate action
projects at the landscape level. These interventions will attract
investments both from investors within and outside of the landscape,
while tackling the impacts of climate change. The DFCD Bankable Regional
Advisor and WWF need to identify partners that they could work within
the landscapes, and ensure they are included in the DFCD pipeline
starting with the initial engagements and ending with contracts being
signed. These groups include impact developers, mainstream companies,
funders and funds, and the advisor will also identify existing
bottlenecks to promote private sector investment in green technologies
and/or ventures.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
- Degree in the field of Project Management, Economics, Finance or Business
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in project management, business development, private sector finance and/or impact investment
- Good financial and budgeting experience
- Fluent in Spanish and English, excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Preferably experience with Development Banks or other types of financial institutions
- Good network with our target groups

- Proven organizational, diplomatic and negotiating skills that yield positive results on the sustainability agenda, especially as it relates to the finance and business world
- Local and Regional experience
- Strong interest in nature conservation and the mission of WWF
- Prior experience in the following would be an advantage:
- Project management
- Pipeline development
- Working with financial institutions
- Understanding of climate risks
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with a wide range of individuals across cultures and time zones
- Independent worker, pro-active in thinking about opportunities to further improve the work
- Demonstrated project management experience, ability to coordinate projects with many variables, set and meet deadlines and manage a timeline under pressure.
- Demonstrates behaviors aligned with the culture of WWF; Collaborate Openly, Listen Deeply, Innovate Fearlessly and Strive for Impact.
- Passion for conservation and adheres to WWF’s values, which are knowledgeable, optimistic, determined and engaged.
